Indian cricket team’s young player Vibhau Suryavanshi set a new record and made his debut in international cricket in the T20 series match against England and bagged the honor of Little Master Sachin Tendulkar.
In the second match of the 5 T20I series between India and England at Old Trafford, Manchester, Vibhau Suryavanshi made his debut in international cricket and won the Young Cricketer Award for India.
Vibhau Suryavanshi made his debut in international cricket at the age of 15 years and 99 days, while Sachin Tendulkar had previously held the record for being the youngest cricketer for India by scoring in a Test match against Pakistan in Karachi in 1989 at the age of 16 years and 205 days.
Sachin Tendulkar’s record of becoming the youngest cricketer in international cricket for India in 1989 was easily surpassed by Vibhao Suryavanshi to become second in the world.
Pakistan has the distinction of being the youngest to debut in international cricket established by former batsman Hasan Raza.
Pakistani batsman Hasan Raza became the youngest cricketer to make his debut at Faisalabad in 1996 at 14 years and 227 days, a feat previously achieved by Pakistan’s Mushtaq Muhammad.
The second in this list is Vibhau Suryavanshi and the third is Muhammad Sharif of Bangladesh who won the record in Harare in 2001 at the age of 15 years and 116 days and was in second place at that time.
Mushtaq Muhammad of Pakistan achieved the honor of becoming the youngest cricketer at 15 years and 124 days in Lahore in 1959 and is now the fourth.
Former Pakistan all-rounder Aqib Javed is number five, having made his debut in 1988 at 16 years and 127 days in Adelaide, Australia.
Indian great Sachin Tendulkar became the sixth youngest player to debut at 16 years and 205 days.
It must be noted that Vibhau Suryavanshi opened with Abhishek Sharma in their debut match against England at Old Trafford but shared 50 runs off 29 balls but was bowled for 14 runs off 10 balls, including two sixes.
England took 4 wickets from India in the series and won 0-1.
Batting first, India scored 190 runs for 7 wickets in 20 separate overs, while England reached the required target in 19 overs with the loss of 6 wickets.
The first match of the 5-match T20 series between England and India ended without a result due to rain, and the third match between the two teams will be played on July 7 in Nottingham.
