2 people were killed and 2 people were injured in the party celebrating their team’s FIFA World Cup championship in Spain, it is said that the condition of one of them is serious.
According to Spanish media reports, around 50 fans were near the historic fountain at the intersection to celebrate the victory of the 2026 FIFA World Cup final in Ciudad Rodrigo (Salmanca), Spain.
Three people were injured in the accident, one of them, a 13-year-old child, died in the hospital, and a fan was seriously injured and taken to Salminka Hospital.
After the accident was announced, the police, fire brigade and emergency medical teams arrived at the scene and started rescue operations.
The municipal council expressed its sadness over the incident and announced 3 days of state mourning from July 20 to 22.
“It is very sad that the celebration of Spain’s World Cup victory has turned into a national tragedy,” the council said.
It is worth mentioning that Spain became the champion for the second time in the final of the FIFA World Cup held in America by defeating the defending champion Argentina.
