Women’s T20 World Cup, Australia team reached the final after defeating West Indies

After losing by 8 wickets in the first semi-final of the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup, the Australian women reached the final.

Batting first, West Indies scored 125 runs for the loss of 7 wickets in the allotted 20 overs.

West Indies captain Hayley Mathews top scored with 30 runs, Sophie Molyneux, Ashley Gardner, Georgia Wareham took two wickets each and Annabel Sutherland took one.

The Australian team scored 126 runs in the 13th over with the loss of just 2 wickets. Sit Mooney scored 61 and Ashley Gardner scored 35 runs. Shaneel Henry and Hayley Mathews took a wicket each for West Indies.

The second match of the tournament will be played between England and South Africa on Thursday.
