Report: Soheyl Imran. During the Indian cricket team’s tour of Ireland and England in June and July, the parents of 15-year-old cricketer Vibhu Suryavanshi have also been allowed to travel.
The Indian Cricket Board has explained why parents will travel with 15-year-old Indian cricketer Vibhu Suryavanshi.
Explaining the matter, Board of Cricket in India (BCCI) Secretary Devajit Saikia said that there is no 14- or 15-year-old player in any national team at the senior level.
Devajit Saikia said that after many decades we got a player like Vibhu Suryavanshi, it was a time when Sachin Tendulkar made it to the national team at that age.
He said that when such a young kid is part of the national team, many problems can arise, so this decision will help Suryavanshi feel comfortable and adapt to the environment of senior players.
Devajit Saikia said that we believe this initiative will help in reducing many problems related to Vibhu Suryavanshi.
