Indian cricket team all-rounder Virat Kohli has been ruled out of the ODI series against Afghanistan starting this month.

Virat Kohli has been ruled out of the ODI series against Afghanistan due to a leg injury. The three-match series will begin on Saturday, June 13, after the lone Test match between the two teams.

According to reports in India, Kohli sustained the injury on May 31 while playing in the IPL 2026 final against Gujarat Titans.

Despite the injury, the 37-year-old batsman persevered through the pain and played a perfect 75-ball 42 to help Royal Challengers Bengaluru win the title for the second time in a row.

The Board of Cricket in India (BCCI) has already announced Kohli’s replacement. The team management hopes that the injury will not be too serious and Kohli will soon be fully fit for the crucial white-ball series against England.

The one-off Test between India and Afghanistan will be played in Chandigarh on June 6, followed by three ODIs on June 13, 17 and 20, which are scheduled in Dharamshala, Lucknow and Chennai respectively.
