Pakistan Cricket Board Chairman and Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi visited the ongoing Red Ball Camp at the LCCA grounds, where he met the players and coaches and reviewed the training activities.
High Performance Director Aqib Javed, former captains Sarfraz Ahmed and Misbah-ul-Haq, Mike Hessen and other coaches were also present at the party.
Mohsin Naqvi spoke to the media and said that the work on new policies for reforms in Pakistan’s politics is being completed.
He said that different strategies have been formulated for T20, ODI and Test cricket and the player selection system is being computerized as much as possible to minimize human intervention. He said that about 85% of the decisions in the selection process will be based on data, fitness and performance.
The PCB chairman made it clear that playing domestic cricket will be mandatory for the central contract and any player who does not fulfill the specified criteria will not get the contract.
He said that five categories have been introduced for central contracts, while a special category has been created for budding players, who will be given special attention.
Mohsin Naqvi announced that the match fee will be increased in all three formats Test, ODI and T20 and work is going on to increase the fee of domestic cricketers. According to him, every athlete needs to go through stages of fitness, internal performance and overall performance to improve.
He said all the players were called for consultation on Monday as they are key stakeholders in the process. He said that the results of the current reforms will be visible in one to two years and will help strengthen Pakistan’s crisis on a long-term basis.
Regarding the test supervisor, Mohsin Naqvi said that he does not make this decision himself, but the relevant teams and selected departments will make the decision.
On the question of Shadab Khan’s possible leadership, he said that there is no end to his knowledge in this field. Regarding Sarfaraz Ahmed, he said that he is an important asset of Pakistan cricket and no final decision has been taken about his role yet.
Mohsin Naqvi hoped that the performance of the national team would improve with the new policies. He said that in the past some wrong policies and personal interests have harmed Pakistan, but now this organization is being managed on a professional basis to give better results to the national team.
He said that the reason for the poor performances was the wrong idea that people were playing the crisis for themselves and not for the country.
Mohsin Naqvi said that several demands of Azad Kashmir were accepted by the government, but despite this, the attitude of disapproval continued. According to him, the leadership of Azad Kashmir has come up with 28 points, of which 26 requests have been accepted, but still none have been satisfied.
He said that first the concession was taken on wheat and then the protest started on the price of electricity. He said that if the demands are made in the same way, the people of other areas can also demonstrate against the increase in electricity prices.
The Minister of Interior said that the government will complete its constitutional term and take steps to solve people’s problems.
Mohsin Naqvi also said about the global oil price, due to the change in the oil price, there is economic pressure all over the world, but Pakistan has managed the situation well. According to him, the government used its international relations to provide fuel, which allowed it to avoid the unusual increase in the price of oil products.
He also said: if the regulations are not implemented, there is a possibility of an increase in the price of petrol by 200 to 250 rupees. Mohsin Naqvi said that with God’s permission, Pakistan was freed from this pressure and that the current situation of the country is better than before. He also hoped that an agreement between the United States and Iran would soon be reached, which would lead to the stabilization of the global energy markets.
