England’s Harry Brook has overtaken former captain Joe Root at the top spot in the ICC Test rankings.
According to the latest Test rankings released by the International Cricket Council (ICC) on Wednesday, Harry Brook is first, Australia’s Travis Head has moved up one place to second and Joe Root has dropped two places to third.
Former Australian captain Steve Smith is fourth, Sri Lanka’s Komando Mendes is fifth after moving up one place and former New Zealand captain Kane Williamson dropped one place to sixth.
South African captain Temba Bavuma is seventh, Indian captain Shubman Gill is eighth after two places, Indian opener Yashwi Jaiswal has dropped one place to ninth and Sri Lankan Dinesh Chandimal has dropped one place to 10th.
India’s Jasprit Bumrah is ranked first, Australia’s Mitchell Starc is second and Australia’s captain Pat Cummins is third among the bowlers.
South Africa’s Marco Jensen, Australia’s Scott Boland and Pakistan’s Nouman Ali rose one place to fourth, fifth and sixth respectively.
New Zealand’s Matt Henry dropped three spots to seventh. South Africa’s Kagiso Rabada remains eighth and Australia’s Josh Hazlewood remains ninth. England’s Gus Atkinson came 10th with seven places.
