The emotional story behind the long flowery hair of Marc Cucorella, the star footballer of the Spain team that defeated Argentina in the 2026 FIFA World Cup, has been revealed.

According to media reports, Cucorella deliberately wears his hair long and does not tie it during matches so that his eldest son Matteo, who has autism, can easily recognize him on the pitch. For him, it is not only a unique style, but also a symbol of his son’s love and fatherly responsibility.

After Spain won the World Cup, Cucorella’s story became the center of attention again. Off the football field, Cucorella and his partner Claudia Rodriguez had a difficult time after their son was diagnosed with autism.

In an Amazon Prime documentary, Claudia said she experienced severe depression when she realized her son was developing differently than other children. Every day, she dropped her son off at school and cried on the way back, when she met the mother of her second child, Ryu.

Mark Cucorella also admitted that it was not easy for him to accept his son’s autism diagnosis, but he supported his family in every difficult phase.
