In the first match of the Women’s T20 Tri-series in Ireland, West Indies Women’s Team defeated Pakistan Women’s Team by 25 runs.
Batting first, West Indies scored 199 runs at the Castle Avenue Ground, with captain Hayley Mathews laying the foundation for a good total with a brilliant 40 runs.
Stephanie Taylor scored 39 runs with the help of two sixes, Janella Glasgow played 42 runs with the help of 7 fours and Pakistan set a target of 200 runs for victory.
Pakistan women’s team did not start well, 4 players returned to the field with a score of 52, Muniba Ali 2, Gul Feroza after scoring 4 goals, Pakistani batsmen went out one after the other.
Saira Jabeen scored 30 runs and Alia Riaz scored 37 runs. Captain Fatima Sana went out with 27 goals. Pakistan team scored 174 runs for 8 wickets in 20 allotted overs.
The Pakistan women’s team will play the second match of the series against Ireland on May 31.
