Shakib-ul-Hasan of the Bangladesh cricket team hoped that relations between India and Bangladesh would be restored soon.
According to the Indian report, Shakib Al Hasan said in an interview: The relations between the two countries will improve after the implementation of the new government of Bangladesh and the upcoming cricket board elections.
Shakib-ul-Hasan said that the new leadership will make the right decisions about cricket and after the Bangladesh Cricket Board elections, there will be better and positive relations with the Indian Board.
Shakibul Hassan expressed his opinion that there will be a constructive dialogue between the two boards which will pave the way for future bilateral series and other cricket activities.
It is worth noting that the tension in the relationship between the two countries came to a head when the Indian team dropped Bangladeshi fast bowler Mustafizur Rahman from the Kolkata Knight Riders squad ahead of IPL 2026. After that, Bangladesh refused to participate in the T20 World Cup in India.
It is worth noting that the last bilateral series between the two teams was played in India in 2024, while the series scheduled for August 2025 in Bangladesh has been postponed indefinitely.
