But the young star of the team Saim Ayyub is optimistic and says that the team atmosphere is positive and the players focus on improving their performance rather than the results.
Saim Ayyub spoke to Geo News and said, despite the bad start, the atmosphere in the dressing room is very good and has improved, we are not thinking about the result now, we are thinking about how we can improve our work.
He pointed out that mistakes were made by the team in the early matches but said the players are working on eliminating these mistakes.
Regarding the performance of the team, Saim Ayyub said that the way we lost in the last two matches, it happens, there are mistakes of the players, we try to reduce and improve the mistakes that occur in each match.
He said that the morale of the team is high and despite the setbacks, the atmosphere does not affect them.
Saim Ayoub talked about the important moments of the matches and said: “There are small places where you stay in and the match is lost. In my opinion, those are the moments of the club where you have to go well.”
He pointed to the uncertainty of the tournament and said that with every team there are ups and downs.
He said that last year, Islamabad won the first five matches and lost the last five matches, but Lahore did not know until the last match whether they would win or not, but they won the championship.
Saim Ayyub stated that the team depends on its strategy and does not focus on the results.
He said that we focus on our process, we are not too worried about the results, we are confident, everything else is in God’s hands.
When asked about the chances of qualification, he said that his team is focused on improving their performance instead of watching the results of other teams. There are still six matches left, we can win six out of six, nothing is impossible, we will try to win one match at a time, we will see the run rate later.
Regarding his personal performance, Saim Ayyub said that he knows his responsibility as a professional and tries to give his best in every match.
He said that the result is not in my hands, I am satisfied that I am doing my best, I know what this team needs from me and I am doing it for that.
On the question of form, he said that he does not believe in the concept of form and off-form, sometimes it happens that a player does not play well but scores goals, and sometimes he plays well but does not score goals, this is all a matter of process.
He said that he focuses on his batting and wants to play in that style.
The young batsman said that I just focus on my batting, even if I fail, I will fail with batting as I want.
Regarding the role of fans in PSL, Saim Ayyub said that the crowd increases the excitement of the tournament and it decreases, PSL is our country’s tournament and its real excitement comes from the crowd, when the stadiums are full, a different atmosphere is created and the enjoyment of the game is also different.
He hoped that in future matches, fans will be allowed to come to the stadium, which will increase the excitement of the event.
