Pakistan achieved a milestone in ODI cricket, the Green Shirts becoming the third team in the world to play 1000 ODI matches.
On this historic occasion, Australian captain Josh Ingles presented a memento to the Pakistani captain, while Shaheen Shah Afridi called the occasion a great honor for Pakistan cricket and called it a special day.
According to details, the first ODI of the series between Pakistan and Australia at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium was the 1000th ODI in Pakistan’s cricket history.
Pakistan played their first one-day international against New Zealand in 1973, the Green Shirts had already won 527 of the 999 matches they had played, losing 442 matches with 9 wickets and 21 draws.
During this time, the national team won the 1992 World Cup and the 2017 Champions Trophy and achieved significant success at the global level, including an impressive 180-run victory over India in the final.
According to the statistics, Pakistan have played 1000 ODI matches, now they are in the first place with 1075 matches and Australia is in the second place with 1019 matches.
