On the second day of the first Test match against the West Indies, Pakistan batted with focus and confidence and improved their position by the end of the game.
In reply to West Indies’ 311 on the second day of the Trump Test, Pakistan scored 199 for the loss of 3 wickets, with Shaun Masood leading the charge with 88 runs. With him, Salman Ali Akha does not go out without scoring a goal.
On behalf of Pakistan, opener Imamul Haq batted responsibly and played 63 runs, but he returned to the pavilion after completing his half-century. Captain Babar Azam could not stay on the wicket for long and got out after scoring 23 runs.
Azan Owais failed to impress on his Test debut and was dismissed without scoring a run.
Earlier, the home team resumed their incomplete innings on the second day with 194 runs for the loss of 3 wickets, however, the Pakistani bowlers showed a bit of bowling and got all the remaining wickets for just 117 runs.
For West Indies, Shay Hope and Keum Hodge scored 92 and 84 runs, Shamar Joseph 23, Tejnarayan Chandrapal and Aamir Jango 21, 21 each, Justin Graves 15, Brendan King 12 and Ruston Chase 10 runs.
On behalf of Pakistan Muhammad Ali took 4 wickets for 50 runs while bowling brilliantly. Muhammad Abbas took 3 wickets, Khurram Shehzad took 2 wickets, Aamir Jamal took 1 wicket.
West Indies made a strong start on the opening day of the first Test match against Pakistan, scoring 194 runs for the loss of 3 wickets.
