Australian Test and ODI captain Pat Cummins has revealed that Australian cricket will be his number one priority for the next few years.

Pete Cummins said that as a Test captain, he wants to play as many matches as possible and does not want to stay away from Test series.

Cummins’ announcement comes amid a debate in which many of Australia’s top players are under the news of opting for franchise cricket.

Cummins said the IPL suits him as it is usually played during the Australian season, but national responsibilities are more important to him.

Regarding his injury, he also said that he has played less cricket in the last few months, which has greatly improved his fitness.

According to Cummins, the back injury is fully healed and he has embarked on an intensive rehabilitation program to play Australia’s crucial Test matches in the next year and a half.

It should be noted that Cummins will not be participating in the upcoming white-ball tours of Pakistan and Bangladesh as he is prioritizing the IPL matches and the Test schedule.
