Lahore: Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Mohsin Naqvi has said that medical fitness is required for central contracts, adding to the data in domestic cricket as well.
Mohsin Naqvi said in a press conference, 85 percent of the players’ contracts will be based on performance, it is the duty of all of us to achieve good results.
He said we are providing everything for cricket, results are good in series but not good in tournaments, it is being worked on.
The PCB chairman said that we believe that we are not good in tournaments, now we are working and progress will be seen.
On the other hand, Pakistan Cricket Board Director of High Performance Center Aqib Javed said that improving the selection process of players is our priority.
Aqeeb Javid said that we have implemented this system internally for a year, the categories were made according to Test, ODI and T20, we were behind in Test, they gave importance to Test.
Aqib Javed said that players will now know which format they belong to, introducing 5 tracks of new formats instead of the old category system.
On the other hand, the head coach of Whiteball Mike Hessen said that the cricket scene has changed, this framework has been developed according to the changed scene.
“It’s an impressive document,” Mike Hessen said, emphasizing Test cricket so players can play first-class and make their own way.
Chief Medical Officer Dr. Javed Mughal said that fitness has become very important, assessment of all players has been completed.
Doctor Javed Mughal said that we have spent four to five months to complete this process, we will do the medical evaluation in four months.
