Many sportspersons, including Sachin Tendulkar, came forward to support the Indian students’ protest

Many well-known figures in the world of sports also raised their voices on the issue of student protests in India.

Former cricketers Sachin Tendulkar, Yuvraj Singh, Shikhar Dhawan, Mohammad Kaif, Olympic gold medalist Abhishnu Bandra, Meerabai Chanu, Vinesh Phogat and Manu Bhakar demanded transparency, accountability and effective reforms in the education system.

Taking to social media platform X, Sachin Tendulkar echoed his late father’s advice and wrote that failure is acceptable but cheating is not so one should not take shortcuts to success.

He said that if students feel that their work has not been rewarded, then this concern is real, so all parts of the society should build a system that gives priority to honesty and merit.

Olympic champion Abhishnu Bandra also supported this stance, asserting that education should be kept above political interests.
