Correspondent Sahil Imran: There is a possibility that the hosting of the final match of the World Test Championship at Lord’s will be postponed.
According to the British media, after the report of Lord’s pitch between England and New Zealand, the hosting of the WTC final has also become a source of concern.
The ICC deemed the Lord’s Test venue between England and New Zealand unsatisfactory, suggesting that the WTC final could be hosted at the Oval instead of Lord’s.
British media say that the final decision has not been made in this regard. The ICC has given England the chance to host the WTC finals until 2031.
Lord’s will host two Test matches despite the withdrawal of the WTC final, as per the agreement with the ECB, Lord’s is required to host 2 Test matches.
British media say Pakistan’s only Test match against England at Old Trafford could be played at Lord’s.
