Shaheen Afridi’s Test career is facing a breakneck pace, with tours of the West Indies and England increasingly likely to be scrapped.
According to reports, yesterday the selection committee announced 22 cricket players for the Topa Red camp, but the name of Şahin Shah Efrîni is not among them.
According to sources, he has been informed that he cannot travel to the West Indies and England as he is not playing first-class cricket.
Interestingly, this excuse did not apply when Shaheen took part in the Test series against Bangladesh.
He has dismissed 60 players in his last 16 Test matches.
Shaheen dismissed 18 players in the 2 matches of the 2021 Test series of the Pakistan team in the West Indies. They took 8 wickets in the first test and 10 wickets in the second test.
Sources said that the selectors were impressed by the performance of PSL and want to give Muhammad Ali and Obed Shah a chance.
Mohammad Abbas, Amir Jamal and Khurram Shehzad will also participate in the election. Shaheen has been informed that he will not participate in the tour of West Indies and England.
The pacer, fed on Asian pitches but now seemingly overlooked in favorable conditions, has taken 126 wickets in his 34-Test career.
The 22-player Red Ball camp will run from June 8 to July 10, with the team kicking off a 2-Test series in the West Indies on July 25.
The 3-Test series against England will begin on August 19.
