New Zealand produced a brilliant performance in the Second Test, defeating England by 253 runs to level the three-match series 1-1.
Chasing a target of 463 runs, the entire England team was bowled out for 209 runs in the second innings. Captain Joe Root with 77 and Harry Brooke with 58 led the way for the hosts, but the rest could not put up enough resistance.
New Zealand fast bowler Matt Henry bowled devastatingly in the second innings and took 6 wickets to take his tally to 11 in the match. Kyle Jamieson took 3 wickets and Will Rourke took one wicket.
Earlier, New Zealand scored 391 runs in the first innings and 362 in the second innings. In reply, the England team was bowled out for 291 runs in the first innings and 209 runs in the second innings.
With the win, New Zealand leveled the three-Test series 1-1, while the deciding and final Test of the series will be played in Nottingham from Thursday.
