Important PCB plan ahead of ODI series against Australia

Report: Soheyl Imran. The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has come up with a plan to hold special matches between the white-ball players as part of preparations for the upcoming ODI series against Australia.

According to sources, there is a possibility of holding three or four matches between the white-ball players from next week in preparation for the 3-day series against Australia which starts from the end of this month.

Sources say that white-ball cricketers will be called for these matches as head coach Mike Hessen wants to have a close look at the available white-ball cricketers.

Sources say that there is a possibility that the ODI squad will be announced only after these matches and there is a possibility that some young players will also be included in the ODI squad.

Sources said that the Australian team will also lack senior and experienced players as Australia’s cricketers are busy with the IPL and several players are resting due to the Test season.

Youngster Oli Peck to join ODI squad against Pakistan, with Victoria’s Oli Peck expected to become Australia’s youngest batsman to play in ODIs.

In addition to Ollie Peck, Liam Scott will also join the team while Billy Stanlake will return to the team after six years.

It is worth mentioning that Pakistan will host Australia in a three-match ODI series and Australia’s ODI team will arrive in Islamabad on May 23.

According to the schedule announced by the PCB, the first ODI will be played on May 30 at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium, while the second and third ODIs will be played on June 2 and 4 at the Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore.
