In an interview given to Geo News in Karachi, Quetta Gladiators spinner Usman Tariq said that he played in Sindh Premier League in Karachi, so spinners are expected to get support here, but the final game plan will be made after seeing the current conditions.
He said that conditions in Karachi are generally favorable for spinners and they will plan their strategy accordingly.
He said his main goal is to contribute to the team’s success and help the team win the title with his performance.
Usman Tariq asked about his improvement in performance, that playing international cricket significantly boosts confidence and strengthens mindset, which is beneficial in league cricket.
He said that when the team puts their expectations on you, the sense of responsibility increases.
Usman Tariq said about the goals of PSL that he does not target any batsmen, but every shot is important for him because all the batsmen are competitors.
Usman Tariq talked about the understanding of his bowling act and said that in cricket it is not the name and opinion but the performance that is important, if the bowling is not good, even a big name is useless.
He said that instead of giving the batsmen a chance to play in their strong zone, he tries to play according to his strategy.
On the current trend of T20 Cricket, he said that this format is becoming more and more favorable to the batsmen, so the bowlers need to bowl harder and smarter.
To a question, he said that the plan should be modified according to the intention of each batsman and the situation of the match, whether the aim is to hit dot balls or to force the batsman to play a shot.
