Former Pakistan Cricket Team captain Shahid Afridi has been awarded the Hilal-e-Imtiaz award in recognition of his outstanding services to national cricket.

In this regard, he said that Hilal Imtiaz, which was received by the President of Pakistan, is a place of honor for me.

Martyr Afrini said in X’s message that this is not only the honor of Martyr Afrini, but the honor of the entire people of Pakistan because your love, prayers and support brought me here.

He also wrote in his message that this award is also in the name of the martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the country, may God protect Pakistan always, Amin.

It is worth mentioning that President Asif Ali Zardari honored Martyr Afrini with Pakistan’s second major civil honor in a prestigious ceremony held at the Presidential Palace.

The honor also recognized his long service to the national team, representing England in county cricket and captaining the Legends World Championship.

Shahid Afridi was also felicitated for leading Pakistan to a historic victory in the 2009 ICCT20 World Cup. In the final, he played an unbeaten 54 runs and took one wicket against Sri Lanka.

The 46-year-old former all-rounder has scored 8064 runs in 398 ODIs for Pakistan, including 6 centuries and 39 half-centuries, while also taking 395 wickets. In T20 International Cricket, Afridi scored 1416 runs and bowled 98 wickets while playing 99 matches.

Shahid Afridi has also been a prominent name in various franchise leagues around the world including Pakistan Super League, Big Bash League, IPL and many other leagues.
