Health of players under new system reviewed: Sports Director Javed Mughal

Report: Soheyl Imran. Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Director of Sports and Sports Medicine Javed Mughal said about the red-ball and white-ball camps at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) that players’ fitness was assessed under a new system comprising 24 tests.

In a video released by PCB, Javed Mughal said that more than 50 players are participating in two campuses where the main objective of the test is to generate basic data for each player.

He said that the basic data shows the players’ strengths and development areas and with the help of these data, each player is worked on in an individual and systematic way.

The director of sports informed that special importance is given to the treatment of injuries, improvement of fitness and recovery of the players and we are working in a phased manner for the recovery of the players.

He said that the athletes were given lessons on diet, nutrition and recovery and the athletes were informed about anti-doping.

Dr. Javed Mughal said that all stakeholders will benefit if the players show better performance, the Red Ball players were also tested in March and in the last three months the fitness and strength of three-four players has improved by 40 to 50 percent.
