First Test Match; Pakistan scored 179 runs for 1 wicket against Bangladesh

Pakistan scored 179 for 1 at the end of play on the second day of the first Test against Bangladesh, but the national team still needs 234 runs to erase the hosts’ first innings lead.

On the second day of the match which was played in Dhaka, Pakistan started their first innings cautiously. Opener Azan Owais is not out with 85 runs and Abdullah Fazal is top of the order with 37 runs. Pakistan’s only wicket was that of Imam-ul-Haq who was dismissed for 45 runs, while Bangladesh spinner Mehdi Hasan Mirza got one wicket.

Earlier, the entire Bangladesh team was bowled out for 413 runs in the first innings. On the second day, Mushfiqur Rahim opened the game with 48 runs and Latin Das with 8 runs. Bangladesh captain Najamul Hasan Shanto scored a century and scored 101 runs, while Momin-ul-Haq led the way with 91 runs. Mushfiqur Rahim scored 71, Laton Das scored 33, Mehdi Hassan Mirza scored 10 and Tejul Islam scored 17 runs among other batsmen.

Pakistan fast bowler Muhammad Abbas showed some devastating bowling and took 5 wickets to the pavilion, while Shaheen Afridi took 3 wickets.

After the conclusion of the Bangladesh innings, the match entered an interesting phase and on the third day, Pakistan will try to first equalize the score of the host team and then take the lead.

It is worth mentioning that at the end of the first day, Bangladesh scored 301 runs for the loss of 4 wickets.
