LOS ANGELES:
Switzerland defeated Bosnia and Herzegovina 1-4 in the important match of Group B of the FIFA World Cup and advanced to the next stage.
The Swiss team played a great game in the last 20 minutes of the match and scored 4 goals and in this game substitute Johan Manzambi scored two goals and had a major role in the victory.
The 20-year-old Manzambi scored just three minutes after coming on. In the 74th minute, he found the ball inside the penalty area and found the net in the first attempt.
Bosnia suffered a major blow earlier when Tarek Mahramovic received a straight red card for a foul on Briel Mbolo.
Taking advantage of a man down, Ruben Vargas doubled Switzerland’s lead with a beautiful shot.
Manzambi scored his second from Vargas’ pass late in stoppage time, while Granit Xhaka scored from the penalty spot in extra time to make it 0-4.
Bosnia’s Armin Mahmich reduced the deficit with a fine volley from a corner, but it was only a consolation goal.
After this victory, Switzerland is at the top of Group B with 4 points and Bosnia is at the bottom with one point.
