Iran’s national football team arrived in America for the first time on the occasion of the 2026 World Cup.
The Iranian team participated in a press conference on the same day after landing at Los Angeles International Airport.
This came at a time when a peace agreement was announced to end the war between the United States and Iran.
The Iranian team arrived in Los Angeles via a short flight from Tijuana, Mexico, where they will face New Zealand in their opening group match.
The head coach of Iran, Amir Qalanawi, said that he was proud to represent his country and hoped that football would be a means of bringing different nations and cultures together.
It is worth mentioning that after the attacks of America and Israel on Iran, the Iranian team moved its base camp in the US state of Arizona and built it in Mexico last month.
The team now has to travel from Mexico to the US for all group matches.
Earlier, during the trip to Tijuana, a large number of fans warmly welcomed the Iranian team and supported them with cheers.
