Morocco beat the Netherlands 2-3 on penalties and advanced to the pre-quarterfinals.
Morocco dominated much of the FIFA World Cup clash in Monterrey with plenty of dangerous attacks, but Dutch goalkeeper Bart Verbruggen kept the Netherlands at bay.
After a goalless first half, the Netherlands took the lead in the 72nd minute against a quick attack when Liverpool forward Cody Khakpo sent the ball into the net with a powerful shot.
Xakpo recently decided to stay with the team despite the tragic death of his unborn child.
When it looked like the Netherlands would win, Isa Diop won the match with a fine header in extra time and the match went to extra time.
Both teams had their chances in extra time but neither team could score the decisive goal, after which the winner was decided by penalties.
Three Dutch players missed their kicks and Ismail Sabari from Morocco scored a decisive penalty and his team won a historic 2-3 victory.
