NEW JERSEY:

French star Kylian Mbappe achieved another historic feat and became the top scorer for the national team.

Mbappe scored a stunning brace against Senegal in their 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier as France won 3-1, surpassing previous record holder Olivier Giroud.

In the first half of the match, Senegal put the French defense under heavy pressure and created several dangerous chances.

Nicholas Jackson’s powerful shot hit the post while Ismaila Saar missed a golden chance on the stroke of half-time.

In the second half, France attacked and changed the direction of the game. Bradley Barkola gave France the lead before Kylian Mbappe took the lead with a superb low-angle strike.

Senegal’s Ibrahim Mbaye tried to sensationalize the match with a goal, but in stoppage time, Mbappe’s superb shot from distance went straight into the net, ending any hope of a Senegalese comeback.

The brace took Mbappe’s tally to 58 for France and made him the best goalscorer in the history of the national team.
