In the FIFA World Cup, Egypt created a new history with a good performance and defeated Australia 4-2 on penalties after an interesting match and reached the knockout stage of the World Cup for the first time.
According to reports, the match played at the Dallas stadium was tied 1-1 during regulation and overtime, after which the penalty shootout was concluded, where the Egyptian players scored all four penalties successfully and Australia scored 2 penalties.
Egypt started the match aggressively and in the 13th minute, Imam Ashur scored a goal and advanced his team. Australia came back in the second half and equalized in the 55th minute.
Both teams failed to score a decisive goal in extra time, after which the match went to penalties and Egypt won the match.
Muhammad Sabir, Rame Raba, Muhammad Salih and Husam Abdulmajid played an important role in the team’s victory in the penalty shootout.
The victory marked Egypt’s first FIFA World Cup qualification stage win and they will now face the winner of the Argentina vs. Cape Verde tie in the pre-quarterfinals in Atlanta on July 7.
