MIAMI:

Brazil beat Scotland 0-3 in their final match of the 2026 FIFA World Cup Group C to not only qualify for the knockout stage but also topped the group.

Another point of the match that was played in the stadium of Miami was the return of the football star Neymar to the national team after almost three years.

With more than 64,000 fans in attendance, Brazil played aggressively from the start and in the seventh minute, Venezius Jr.

A misplaced ball from Scotland defender Scott McKenna saw Ryan cross to Venisius, who evaded goalkeeper Angus Gunn and slotted the ball into the net with ease.

Vencius also scored another goal in the first half, but it was ruled out as a foul after VAR review.

Nevertheless, Brazil managed to keep up the constant pressure while Scotland failed to capitalize on their limited opportunities.

Brazil scored their second goal in the dying moments of the first half when Venezius headed home Bruno Guimaraes’ cross. It was his fourth goal of the tournament and made him a leading contender for the Golden Boot.

In the second half, Brazil continued to dominate and Mathieus Konya completed a beautiful team move and scored the third goal. Bruno Guimaraes also played an important role in this goal and scored his second goal in the match.

The most emotional moment of the match came when coach Carlo Ancelotti brought on 34-year-old Neymar.

It was the first time Neymar represented Brazil’s national team since October 2023, and the fans in the stadium went into a standing ovation.

On the other hand, Scotland failed to attack effectively throughout the match. Brazil goalkeeper Alisson Becker also made several good saves to keep his team clean.

With this win, Brazil topped Group C with seven points, while Morocco defeated Haiti to take second place.

Brazil proved once again that they are among the strongest contenders for the title, but Neymar’s return boosted the morale of the team’s fans.
