Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum has confirmed that Iran’s national soccer team will stay in Mexico during the FIFA World Cup.

According to the report of the World News Agency, Claudia Sheinbaum announced in a media interview that America did not allow the Iranian team to spend the night in their country and after that FIFA contacted Mexico.

President Sheinbaum said that we have no reason to refuse hosting Iran. America does not want to allow the Iranian team to stay in their country, but all three of their matches will be played in America.

Then FIFA announced that the training center of the Iranian team is being built in Tijuana, Mexico.

Tucson, Arizona was previously chosen as a base camp for Iran, but the situation changed due to ongoing tensions and security concerns in the Middle East.

Iran will play its group stage matches with New Zealand, Belgium and Egypt in different cities of America.

On the other hand, Iran’s Sports Minister Ahmed Dunya Mali also announced that the President of FIFA has confirmed that visas will be given to Iranian players to enter the United States.

However, the United States has indicated possible sanctions against those affiliated with Iran’s Revolutionary Guards.
