Ivory Coast scored a last-minute goal to beat Ecuador 0-1 at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
The defining moment of the match came in the 90th minute when Manchester United winger Amad Dialow came on as a substitute and scored a beautiful goal.
Following a powerful run by Wilfried Sango, Amad unleashed a brilliant left-footed finish in the corner that changed the course of the entire stadium.
The defeat proved painful for Ecuador as it also ended their 19-match winning streak that spanned nearly two years.
In the match, Ecuador created many chances and the ball hit the crossbar three times. Efforts from Jon Yeboah and Alan Munda failed in the first half, while veteran striker Ener Valencia also missed the post in the second half.
On the other hand, Ivory Coast also created chances and Nice Ile Wahi’s forward’s effort went off the crossbar.
Although Ecuador adopted a defensive strategy for most of the time and held off Ivory Coast’s attacks, Amad Dia Lo’s outstanding individual skill in the last minute changed the outcome of the entire match.
With this victory, Ivory Coast strengthened their position in Group E and increased their hopes of reaching the knockout stage.
