The FIFA Council Bureau handed over the hosting of the first World Cup and Under-15 Festival to Azerbaijan.
The new world tournament for youth footballers will be held from 22 to 31 October 2026, with national under-15 boys’ teams from all FIFA member associations taking part in the event, with the 2027 edition only for girls’ national teams.
Football’s world body will hold separate tournaments for boys and girls from 2028, with Azerbaijan also co-hosting the 2027 FIFA U-20 World Cup.
The FIFA Council Bureau also approved the regulation of the FIFA ASEAN Cup, which is the first tournament of this series to be held this year in the months of September-October this year.
