Famous Portuguese footballer Cristiano Ronaldo has confirmed that the 2026 FIFA World Cup will be the last international tournament of his career.

Speaking to the media ahead of the quarter-final against Spain, Ronaldo said he wants to enjoy every moment of the event and hopes his journey isn’t over yet.

The 41-year-old star said he will be satisfied when the time comes to say goodbye to international football as he has done all he can for his country and football.

According to him, he only plays for passion and has nothing else to prove.

Ronaldo has scored three goals in this World Cup so far. He scored twice against Uzbekistan in the group stage to become the first player to score in six different World Cup sports, while also scoring his first career World Cup goal with a penalty in the knockout stage against Croatia.

Ronaldo said that this World Cup has been the most memorable for him emotionally.

He described the criticism as part of his growth, saying that each experience has helped him become a better person and player.
