Cricket Australia is working on big money deals to keep its captain Pat Cummins and other key players with the national team for a long time.
Pete Cummins has just been offered a three-year contract extension that could see him stay with the team until 2029, according to Australian media reports.
Under the proposed deal, their annual revenue would rise to A$4 million, about A$1 million more than the current deal.
Reports indicate that the deal will be worth a total of $12 million, while Cummins will also continue to receive a large income from the IPL and commercials.
This year, a franchise associated with Sunrisers Hyderabad also offered Cummins and vice-captain Travis Head nearly $10 million per year to quit international cricket and play full franchise cricket, but both players declined the offer, preferring to represent Australia.
Meanwhile, new deals are also being considered for Marence LeBuchian and Cameron Green to keep key players away from the franchise’s major leagues.
