West Indies veteran Kieron Pollard became the highest run-scorer in the history of T20 Cricket.
He surpassed compatriot Chris Gayle’s record of 14,562 runs to reach this historic milestone.
Pollard earned the honor by hitting a 100-run innings against the Washington Freedom for New York MI in the American Major League Baseball (MLC). This is only the second century of his T20 career, having already scored a century in the Caribbean Premier League (CPL) in 2018.
Chris Gayle has been the highest run-scorer in men’s T20 cricket since March 28, 2014 and has held the streak for 4467 consecutive days. His 12-year reign was finally ended by Pollard.
Having played 736 T20 matches so far, Pollard is also the most prolific player in this format. He became only the ninth batsman in the history of men’s T20 Cricket to top the list of highest run-scorers.
Chris Gayle was not only the first player from outside England and Australia to top the T20 list, but his reign spanned more than half of T20 cricket history from 2014 to 2026.
