Asian Games: Pakistan, India, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka in direct knockout stage

The fixtures and groups for the men’s and women’s cricket competitions for the 2026 Asian Games have been officially announced.

In the men’s competition, Pakistan, India, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka have been placed in the direct elimination stage according to the world ranking, and Afghanistan, Hong Kong, Japan, Malaysia, Nepal and Oman will compete together in the preliminary stage.

In the men’s competition, Afghanistan, Japan and Nepal are in Group A, while Hong Kong, Malaysia and Oman are in Group B.

The top two teams from each group will advance to the knockout stage and face Pakistan, India, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka.

The men’s tournament will be played in the T20 format from September 24 to October 1 in Nagoya, Japan.

The women’s competition will begin from September 17 and will see India play Japan, Bangladesh play China, Sri Lanka play Malaysia and Pakistan play Thailand in the quarter-finals.

The women’s competition will continue until September 22.

It is worth mentioning that in the 2023 Asian Games, India won the gold medal in the men’s and women’s categories.
