Despite losing 1-2 in extra time to England in the FIFA World Cup quarter-finals, Norway’s national football team received a warm welcome in the capital city of Oslo.

Thousands of people had started to gather in front of the Royal Palace since the morning, and when the team arrived, they were greeted with the traditional water.

Holland and Sander Berge had to miss the event to catch their flight, coach Staley Solbakken said.
Later, the players traveled around the city in an open bus, but due to the unusual crowd, the speed of the bus stopped at several places and at one point it had to turn back.
