Report: Soheyl Imran. White House Cricket Team Chief Mike Hessen says that a team with a 20% winning percentage cannot be expected to win ICC events.
Mike Hessen spoke to Geo News and said that we had to start being consistent in performance and winning, which we did. We are now winning more series than ever before.
He said that in 2023, 24 and 25 we did not get out of the first round in ICC events. In 2026, we reached the Super Eight stage. We lost one match to England.
In response to a question, Mike Hasen said that before we won neither home series nor away series.
Mike Hesson believes where we have been and where we are. I think there is a lot of progress. I think there is still room for improvement and it will get better. We have to win properly.
He said that the central contract mechanism for all formats has been completed, now all teams are trying to prepare contracts considering the current situation.
Mike Hasson in his speech said that T20 players are trying to improve their future and skills in franchise cricket, if they are asked to play first class, they will not be able to specialize in their form.
On the selection of young players for the Asian Games, Mike Hessen said that the cricketers who did not qualify for the Asian games should participate in the competition.
Continuing his speech, Mike Hessen said that we need to increase our pool and test the youth for another six months in order to keep our selection for the World Cup right.
We will get opportunities now, I think the ODI team is moving forward, we have to show young players in the Asian Games, that’s why we chose this combination, it’s a balanced decision, we chose a team whose players are better in the T20 format,” said the head coach.
He said that by exposing these players, we give ourselves the chance to find the players we want.
On the strength of Indian team in Asian Games, he said that it is not only India, there are many other good teams, Afghanistan is always dangerous in T20, Sri Lanka is improving, Bangladesh team is tough in spin conditions.
