20 wickets fell on the first day of the Ashes Boxing Day Test.
On the first day of today’s match in Melbourne, England won and decided to bowl first, in reply the Australian team was bowled out for 152 runs.
The visiting English team scored 110 runs in the 30th over and lost by 42 runs.
Harry Brooke was the only notable batsman from the English team with 41 runs while opening batsman Zac Crawley scored 5 runs and Ben Duckett 2 runs, Jacob Bethel 1 and Joe Root not out.
England captain Ben Stokes managed to score 16 runs while wicketkeeper-batsman Jim Smith returned to the pavilion with 2 wickets, Will Jack 5, Gus Atkinson 28 and Brayden Cross were out for 4 runs while Josh Ting could only manage 1 run.
On behalf of Australia, Michael Naser dismissed 4 players, Scott Boland took 3 wickets, Mitchell Starc took 2 wickets and Cameron Greene took 1 wicket.
Scott Boland and Travis Head are on hand in Australia’s second innings as Australia lead by 46 runs with 4 runs to spare.
