Defense Minister Khawaja Asif confirmed this important point in a message on X and said that Pakistan can host the South Asian Football Federation (SAFF) Under-17 Boys Championship and Pakistan will host this international event in August 2026, which is a great success for the country’s sports, especially football.
Under-17 football teams from various South Asian countries will participate in this event, which will not only give young players an opportunity to compete at a high level, but also promote multinational football activities in Pakistan.
Khawaja Asif said it was a great achievement for Pakistan Football Federation (PFF) to host this important event. Sports circles say the decision is proof of growing confidence in Pakistan at the global level.
Hosting the SAIF U-17 Boys Football Championship 2026 will further strengthen Pakistan’s reputation in global sports and the country will emerge as a credible and reliable host.
