Australia announced the squad for the Boxing Day Test of the Ashes.
According to details, Todd Murphy and fast bowler Jay Richardson have been included in the squad for the Boxing Day Test.
Murphy may get a chance to play his first home Test after Nathan Line was ruled out through injury.
Nathan Line was injured trying to save a boundary on the final day of the third Test, after Cricket Australia confirmed he would need surgery.
Recently, Murphy took three wickets for Australia A against England Lions.
He has taken 22 wickets at an average of 28 in 7 Test matches.
Meanwhile, Steve Smith will take over after recovering from an ear problem, while regular skipper Pete Cummins will miss the Boxing Day Test as part of the management’s plan.
It should be noted that Australia have already taken an unassailable 0-3 lead in the series, so Cummins’ availability in the Sydney Test is questionable.
In the absence of the series, Australia may be without a specialist spinner, as they did earlier in the series.
