FIFA announced the record prize money for the 2026 World Cup.
According to FIFA’s statement, a total of 655 million dollars will be distributed in the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
A total of 440 million dollars was distributed in the 2022 FIFA World Cup.
According to the statement, the winning team of the FIFA World Cup 2026 will be awarded 5 million dollars, and the winning team of the previous round will be awarded 42 million dollars.
The second team of the FIFA World Cup is awarded 33 million dollars, the third team 29 million dollars and the fourth team 27 million dollars.
According to the announcement, teams five to eight will receive 10.9 million dollars and teams nine to 16 will receive one and a half million dollars.
Each team ranked 17th through 32nd will receive $10.1 million, while teams ranked 33rd through 48th will receive $9 million each.
FIFA will also pay an additional 1.5 million dollars to each team that reaches the World Cup.
It is worth mentioning that the World Cup of Football will be held next year in America, Canada and Mexico, where 48 teams will participate.
