Report: Soheyl Imran. Pakistan cricket team’s spin bowler Muhammad Nawaz has accepted a ban after admitting violating the ICC Anti-Doping Rules.
According to the ICC, 32-year-old Mohammad Nawaz was tested for dope after the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup match against the Netherlands on February 7, 2026 in Colombo, Sri Lanka, and a banned substance was found in his sample.
According to the ICC anti-doping law, Muhammad Nawaz’s performance and records against the Netherlands on February 7 and thereafter until May 1, 2026 have also been declared free.
According to the ICC, Muhammad Nawaz admitted that the banned substance was used outside the game and had nothing to do with in-game performance enhancement.
The ICC suspended him for three months, but the sentence will run from May 1, 2026, when he voluntarily accepted a temporary suspension.
According to the ICC, if Muhammad Nawaz successfully completes the rehabilitation program related to the use of a prohibited substance, his suspension period will be reduced from three months to one month.
The ICC says that when Muhammad Nawaz accepted the sentence, he also agreed to participate in a rehabilitation program and his temporary suspension was lifted after the two-and-a-half-month suspension was completed.
