Report: Feyzan Lakhani. FIFA has announced that, for the first time, special championship rings will be presented to the winner of the 2026 FIFA World Cup alongside the traditional trophy and gold medals.

According to FIFA, this will be the first time in the history of a FIFA competition that the winning team will receive special championship rings in the famous American sports tradition.

The total number of these rings made for the World Cup will be 2,26. FIFA says 30 of these rings will be reserved for players and officials of the winning team and the remaining 1,996 rings will be sold as officially licensed products to fans around the world.

According to FIFA, each color will feature the design of the FIFA World Cup trophy on one side, while the winning team’s identity will be highlighted on the other.

Each color will be produced with a unique number, Certificate of Authenticity and specific size depending on the player concerned.

The statement said that immediately after the final, commemorative temporary rings will be given to the captain and head coach of the winning team, and all 30 permanent rings prepared for the winning team will be officially presented in a special ceremony after completing all the points.

It is worth mentioning that the final of the 2026 FIFA World Cup will be played between Spain and Argentina on July 19 at the New York Stadium in New York.
