Luke Ronnie has resigned as the batting coach of the New Zealand cricket team

WELLINGTON: New Zealand Cricket has announced that national team coach Luke Ronnie has resigned and will soon join Australian Big Bash League (BBL) franchise Melbourne Renegades.

According to New Zealand Cricket, Luke Ronnie took over as the national team’s batting coach in 2020 and has played a major role in the team’s performance over the past few years.

Rooney will continue his duties during India’s tour of New Zealand while he will officially take over as head coach of the Melbourne Renegades at the end of the series, the board said.

It is worth mentioning that the Indian Cricket team will visit New Zealand from October 22 to December 1 and during that period 5 T20 matches and five ODIs will be played between the two teams.

In his message, Luke Ronkey thanked the coaching staff and players and said that their goal was always to make the team and the players perform at their best and is proud of the memorable achievements of this trip.

New Zealand Test captain Tom Latham praised Luke Ronkey’s services, saying he has been a very important member of the team.
