The Egyptian national football team, which showed the best performance in its history in the FIFA World Cup, was warmly welcomed by thousands of fans when they returned to their country.
Supporters waving national flags, singing national anthems and holding placards of praise gathered to welcome the team at the international airport in the northern city of Al-Meen.
In the World Cup, Egypt reached the last 16 teams by winning for the first time in the competition, and this is considered a great success for the country’s football.

Although Egypt lost 2-3 to Lionel Messi’s Argentina in the final match, the team won the hearts of the nation with their magnificent performance.
Meanwhile, the Egyptian Football Federation has also extended the contracts of head coach Hussam Hassan and his twin brother Ibrahim Hassan, under whose leadership the team has achieved significant success in recent years.
