In the FIFA World Cup, Colombia advanced to the round of 16 after defeating Ghana 0-1 in the pre-quarterfinals.

The only and defining goal of the match was scored by Juan Arias in the 14th minute and after a beautiful cross by Luis Suarez, he headed the ball into the net.

Before now, Colombian player Juan Cordoba had to leave the field due to an injury, and Ghana defender Marvin Sinaia was also injured in his leg.

Colombia continued to attack throughout the match but Ghana goalkeeper Lawrence Ziggy made several excellent saves to save his team from further damage.

A goal was denied by Luis Diaz and several chances were missed.

On the other hand, the Ghanaian team failed to get a single shot on target in the entire match while its attacking performance was very disappointing throughout the tournament.

After this victory, Colombia’s next match will be against Switzerland, and in case of victory, it is expected that a possible clash with Argentina will be held in the quarter finals.

On the other hand, Ghana became the seventh African team to be eliminated from the tournament, while only Morocco and Egypt remained in the competition.
