England staged a stunning comeback to beat DR Congo 1-2 to advance to the pre-quarterfinals of the 2026 FIFA World Cup Round of 32.

DR Congo started the match aggressively and Sepanga scored in the seventh minute to give their team the lead. England faced disappointment in the first half when captain Harry Kane was brought down in the penalty area during a counter-attack, but the referee refused to award a penalty. Thus, the first half ended with the victory of DR Congo 1-0.

England made a strong comeback in the second half. In the 75th minute, Harry Kane sent the ball into the net with a nice header and made the match 1-1.

Harry Kane scored another goal in the 86th minute of the match and England took the lead 2-1 and stayed until the end of the match.

With this victory, England advanced to the pre-quarter finals of the 2026 FIFA World Cup by defeating DR Congo.
