6 men’s teams and 6 women’s teams will participate in the Los Angeles 2028 Cricket Olympics, the top teams from 4 continents, Africa, Asia, Europe and Oceania will participate directly.
The remaining teams will be decided through the ICC Olympic Qualifiers. If the USA ranks 15th, it will be able to participate as a host.
The teams will be decided based on the current ICC events and T20 rankings while the sixth team will be decided through the ICC Olympic Qualifying events.
For the women’s competition, Australia, India, Great Britain and South Africa have directly qualified for the Olympics on the basis of the T20 World Cup.
All 6 participating teams in the Olympics will be divided into 2 groups, the top 2 teams will play against different teams in the opposing group, then the gold medal and silver medal will be played between the two competing teams and the bronze medal match will be played between the third and fourth teams.
